After being chosen as the 2011-12
Green Champion School of the Year,
Timucuan Elementary has had the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with GCA Services Group to beautify the school's landscape. GCA's exceptional support and commitment has allowed them to quickly become an extraordinary partner with Duval Schools.
Timucuan's principal, Margaret Kring, has taken particular notice to the hard work and amount of time GCA's administrators spend at the school. This dedicated group even spent three full consecutive days creating a beautiful park-like reading garden for Timucuan's students and staff. They also recruited more than 20 Navy volunteers to help lay mulch, cut weeds and trim the landscaping.
"This project will certainly give my teachers, children and parents a boost when school starts," said Principal Kring. "GCA has been a great company to work with in my experience as a principal. They have always been responsive and true to their word."
In addition to their special projects, GCA's administrators and area managers have proven to be leaders and role models for the district's administrators, staff, teachers and students. They have consistently provided genuine commitment to Duval County's schools.
