Beauclerc Elementary School Kick Off Reading Celebration with “Back-to-Football Friday”

Beauclerc Elementary students, teachers, parents and staff showed their football spirit as they participated in a “Back-to-Football Friday” celebrating the school’s reading kick-off. The event featured a flag raising ceremony conducted by the safety patrols.

Students dressed in their favorite NFL team gear and added Jacksonville Jaguars stickers to their planners to show their team spirit.

Patches, the Gator Bowl Mascot, spoke to students about the importance of reading well and tackling healthy habits. Wolfson High School’s cheerleaders led cheers and performed routines. The Wolfson High School football team captain talked to students about doing their best in school, especially when learning to read and practicing those reading skills.

“The more you read, the more you succeed,” said Principal Kornblum, reciting her reading slogan.

The PTA also sponsored a door decorating contest with the themes of ‘Tackling Healthy Habits’ or ‘Healthy Tailgate Recipes.’ Families were treated to Back-to-Football Tailgating Chili from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
