Kendall K., a fifth-grader at
San Mateo Elementary, placed third in the mile-distance race and ninth in the 800-meter race at the national 2011 Summer Track Competitions held in New Orleans, LA. Kendall competes with the Running Force Track Club in Jacksonville.
Kendall’s other accomplishments include her part in the school’s WSAM television crew. She is the in-school television news correspondent. Kendall proved her talent as a solo singer in the San Mateo Elementary talent show.
While Kendall knows that track practice may be difficult, she says it feels great to run fast in the competitions.
