Sandalwood High School senior, Claire C. was recently selected as one of two winners in the Jacksonville Association of Health Underwriters (JAHU) Essay Contest.
JAHU President Susan Luvisi and Awards Chairperson Brenda Conner will present Claire with a $250 cash award during a breakfast at the Deercreek Country Club later this month.
The essay contest was open to high school juniors and seniors. Students were asked to write argumentative essays expressing their views regarding the role of government in managing healthcare in the United States. The essay review committee determined the winner based on grammar, logic, presentation and ingenuity.
Jacksonville Association of Health Underwriters is a non-profit association dedicated to meeting the health, financial and retirement security needs of all Americans while utilizing private sector solutions.
