In recognition of November as National Lung Cancer Awareness Month,
Oceanway Elementary is doing their part to find a cure for lung cancer. Students, teachers, parents and staff from Oceanway gathered to run the Free to Breathe Lung Cancer 5K race.
Participants gathered as part of Team Clai. The team ranked third place and Mr. Mathis, fifth-grade teacher, placed second in his division.
The Free to Breathe event series unites people who are passionate about creating public awareness of lung cancer. Thousands of lung cancer survivors, family, friends and advocates join in this effort to create change for lung cancer.
Thank you to all who participated in the event and to those who supported the cause.
