Fishweir Elementary Reads It Forward with Book Character Vocabulary Parade

As part of Read It Forward Jax!, Fishweir Elementary’s students and teachers dressed up as their favorite book characters while parading around the school. Students took the costumes a step further by choosing a dynamic vocabulary word that described the character from the book.

Parents and staff lined the hallways to snap pictures of the students for the Book Character Vocabulary Parade. Students were immersed in new vocabulary with the different Tier 2 words.

After the parade, guest readers visited classrooms to share their own favorite books. The parade helped to celebrate Read It Forward Jax! and the school’s book fair.
