Alden Road Exceptional Student Center took part in Youth Appreciation Week as they recognized one of their own outstanding students. Jessica G. was announced as Alden Road’s Optimist Youth of the Week on behalf of the Arlington Optimist Club.
Jessica is compassionate, considerate and embraces everyone she meets with a warm smile. She works hard in all aspects of her life.
“It is a gift to work with Jessica every day,” said Tammy Boyd, principal at Alden Road. “We are so proud of all she has accomplished. Jessica is truly the best example of an Optimist Youth.”
Youth Appreciation Week allows Duval County schools to build students’ self-esteem by recognizing their talents in the arts, athletics, academics and their contribution to the community. The Optimist Youth program encompasses all that makes a difference in the life of a young person.
