Members of the Jacksonville Giants’ basketball team visited
Biscayne Elementary to discuss the importance of reading and anti-bullying amongst the students. The Giants’ mascot, Mr. Biggs accompanied the team on their trip to Biscayne.
Students were attentive to the basketball players as they stressed the significance of reading it forward to advance themselves and their futures. The players’ message of anti-bullying gave the students an opportunity to say no to bullying and respect their peers.
Principal DeShune Stroy-Bush shared the students’ excitement as they cheered on the Giants. As parting gifts, each student, teacher and staff member received a ticket to the weekend Giants’ game along with a team t-shirt and a chance to win a $10,000 prize.
Thank you to the Jacksonville Giants for encouraging our students to build bright futures!
