Arlington Elementary Promotes Reading with Grant Funds
Arlington Elementary’s faith-based partner, Arlington United Methodist Church, aligned with the Rotary Club of South Jacksonville to present the school with a generous grant. Arlington Elementary used the funds to purchase 45 bean bag chairs for reading spots.
The bean bags are used in every classroom to promote independent reading. Students are able to pick a book, relax in the comfortable corners and read it forward. Teachers have already noticed the increased amount of students reading on a daily basis. Arlington Elementary had a celebration for the receipt of the grant from Arlington United Methodist Church, which supported the school’s reading efforts.
