Lake Lucina Elementary Cuts Ribbon on New Kindergarten Playground

Bursts of excitement were heard across the campus of Lake Lucina Elementary as School Board member Martha Barrett joined Principal Jana Grenier for the grand opening of the new kindergarten playground. After weeks of construction and years of waiting, Lake Lucina is proud to be home to this new playground for the students.

Board member Martha Barrett congratulated Principal Grenier and the kindergarten students for this long-awaited addition. They proceeded to cut the red ribbon on the gate of the playground, officially marking its opening. Students, parents, teachers and community members were present for the ceremony.

Immediately upon opening the gates to the play area, kindergarteners rushed in to enjoy the slides, monkey bars and tic-tac-toe game. Laughter, cheers and smiles were widespread amongst these students.

“The opening of the kindergarten playground is the realization of something you’ve been reaching for,” said Principal Jana Grenier. “It’s something special for this time of year. It’s simply beautiful.”
