Local Firefighters Surprise Woodland Acres Elementary Students

On the final day of school before winter break, the students of Woodland Acres Elementary received a special visit from local firefighters who arrived to the school on top of a fire truck with flashing siren lights. Excitement rang high as students cheered when the firefighters climbed off the truck to greet their fans.

Students formed lines to meet the firefighters with hugs and hellos. The firefighters passed out candy canes to all the students to spread the holiday cheer. Mrs. Treglio, the school counselor, arranged for the surprise visit.

“I spoke to the fire station far in advance because I wanted them to visit on the last day of school before our winter break,” said Mrs. Treglio.

The surprise kept the students cheerful as they closed out the last school day of 2011. Thank you to the firefighters at station 30 for coming to visit our students!
