Oak Hill Elementary held their first reading celebration of the year with the school’s theme, “Unlocking the Treasures of Learning.” Principal Amy Bright was proud to announce that 99 percent of Oak Hill’s students met their reading goals for the first half of the 2011-12 school year.
Captain William Mayhem from the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum attended the celebration as he discussed the importance of reading as a pirate. He passed out bookmarks and eye patches to the students for their hard work and reading achievements.
Congratulations to Oak Hill Elementary’s students for this accomplishment!
