Biscayne Elementary Students Dance for a World Record
Biscayne Elementary School participated in the inaugural national movement called JAM World Record 2012 with Let's Move in Schools. The entire faculty and staff went outside at exactly 10 a.m. to join a million other adults and students nationwide in Just A Minute (JAM) of physical activity. Biscayne was also hoping to help Florida win the state JAM title by having the highest percentage of participants moving at the same time.
The Biscayne Elementary Knights wore their red shirts and decided to do more than "just a minute" of activity to support JAM World Record 2012. They all learned the "Move Your Body" routine by Beyonce, and were led by the school's music teacher, select student leaders and the administrative team. Even though the playground was wet and mushy, nothing stopped the excitement of this special event. Hopefully all participants are now aware of the importance of developing healthy habits and the need to participate in daily physical activity before, during and after the school day!
