Sheffield Elementary Student Rewarded for Use of Destination Success
Hunter S., a third-grade student at Louis Sheffield Elementary, worked very diligently over the summer using Duval County's Destination Success program to keep his reading and math skills sharp. He logged more than 2,000 minutes, making him the county's top user. This means he had more time logged than any other student in Duval County.
Last month, Mary Mickel and Jennifer Hill from Academic Services and Terry Bechtold and Mark Smith from Houghton Mifflin all came to Hunter's classroom to congratulate him. They surprised him with a brand new Nintendo Wii game system donated by Houghton Mifflin.
Hunter's father and grandmother, along with Hunter's classmates, principal, vice principal and teachers were in attendance to celebrate this deserving student. All of his classmates are excited to try to win next year!
