Seabreeze Elementary Students Begin Work in their Greenhouse

The Seabreeze Elementary "Greenhouse" students started their mini-master gardening lessons the first week of October. As part of the business partnership between Seabreeze and Rockaway Garden Center (RGC), RGC spends one day a week for 24 weeks each school year teaching the students about plants.

This year the lessons are tied to the school theme of "Around the World in 180 Days." Lesson plans include plant origins, how they are used in cooking around the world and much more. Brian Burghardt, Trish and Papa "B" have almost as much fun instructing as the students do learning. In addition to the lessons and maintaining the greenhouse, 10% of all herb and vegetable sales from the business are given back to the Seabreeze PTA.
