Parkwood Heights Elementary Students Finish the Year Strong

Parkwood Heights Elementary students ended the year with several engaging activities as they prepared to leave for Winter Break. They even had special visitors stop by to enjoy some festivities.

Terry Parker High School students visited each of the classrooms and performed songs for the elementary students to get them in the holiday spirit. The students truly enjoyed spending time talking and singing with the older students.

Parkwood Heights also held a school-wide pajama party and read/write-a-thon. Students were encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas to school while classroom activities were based around reading and writing stories.

On the last day of school before Winter Break, as an encouragement to all students to read over the holiday, one of the fifth-grade classes held a Book Swap for all students. Students brought in gently used books to swap for books new to them. The students were excited to share their favorite books with others and pick up new ones they had not yet read.
