Stanton Student Receives Prominent $5,000 Scholarship

Carrison Hager, a senior at Stanton College Preparatory School, has been selected as this year's male recipient of the $5,000 Boselli Award of Excellence Scholar-Athlete College Scholarship.

The award will be presented to Carrison at the Gator Bowl Hall of Fame Coaches Luncheon at the Prime Osborn Convention Center on December 31, 2012.

Carrison came across the scholarship in the district's blue scholarship book. The scholarship book had been provided to the seniors by the school's guidance department.

The eligibility requirements for the scholarship include maintaining a 3.0 unweighted GPA, a passing SAT score, participation in sports, extracurricular activities, exemplary behavior, and pledging to be drug-free, alcohol-free, and tobacco-free. Carrison also had to write a 500-word essay outlining his academic accomplishments, athletic commitment, career goals and Christian outreach/community service, and leadership qualities. In addition, he had to submit three letters of recommendation from a guidance counselor, coach and minister.

Congratulations Carrison on being the recipient of the Boselli Scholarship!
