TV Production

Television Production is a division of the Communications Department and produces two monthly half-hour television shows, Brain Brawl: The Superintendent's Academic Challenge, public services announcements and training videos. Other services include Audio/Visual meeting support.

School Board Meetings (Regular monthly meeting)
Live Broadcast: First Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. on Comcast Cable Channel 24/Broadband Channel 29
Tape Delay: Same night at 12:00 a.m. on WJCT-TV, Comcast Cable Channel 8

REAL School 
REAL School is a hosted entertainment-style public service program featuring the best of Duval County Public Schools. Each show features the district's top programs and provides details about the wonderful projects and events happening in Duval County Public Schools. REAL School is hosted by DCPS students Hannah-Maria Roder and David Emanuel.

Premiers the first Sunday of the month at 10 a.m. on WJCT-TV (Comcast Cable Channel 8), and re-airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Comcast channel 29. Please check your local tv guide listings for dates and times at TVGuide.com.

School Matters
School Matters is an interview style public service program. Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals and a WJCT moderator, Joyce Morgan Danford, hold a conversation with school administrators, teachers, students and other stakeholders on a variety of topics.

Brain Brawl: The Superintendent's Academic Challenge: Now in its 28th year!
Duval County Public Schools, under the auspices of the Academic Programs Department and in collaboration with Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, produces the video version of this academic competition among Duval area high schools.

Public Service Announcements
The Television Production Department produces public service announcements for airing on local TV stations and cable television on a variety of topics to educate and inform our community.

Informational and Training Videos
The Television Production Department also produces a variety of informational and training videos throughout the year for the district. Please let us know of your video needs by contacting the Communications Department at 904-390-2126. Please note: Due to our small staff size and time commitments producing the tv shows listed above, it’s best to contact us two or three months before your deadline for any reasonable chance of fulfilling your video production needs.
