VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
DCPS EMPLOYEE RELEASE POLICIES
Each year, schools are challenged to provide higher quality education with limited funding and resources. By sharing their time, energy, and diverse talents, volunteers play a major role in bridging the gap between needs and resources.
Through activities such as tutoring; assisting in classrooms, offices, clinics, and media centers; and sharing areas of expertise, travels, and hobbies, school volunteers enhance the work of classroom teachers.
School volunteers play key roles in special projects such as fund-raising activities, and business partnerships that link our community, businesses, and schools.
The role of a volunteer is very important, and involvement within the schools can be as rewarding to the volunteer as it is for the students.
