Principal Leadership Exchange
Project
Where Business Leaders and
Principals exchange valuable ideas and experiences to
promote public education…
What is the
Principal Leadership Exchange Project?
The Principal Leadership Exchange Project
encourages the private sector to take an active
leadership role in public education through
“exchanging,” their leadership role with a Duval County
Principal. The goal of the program is for community and
business stakeholders to translate their one-day
experience into a long-term relationship with the
school, thus supporting the overall academic achievement
of students.
Who
participates in the Principal Leadership Exchange
Project?
Committed business leaders who wish to transform their
passion for education into action through partnering
with a public school, and have expertise, interests and
willingness to leverage professional and personal
resources to support public education.
What is the
schedule and time commitment for the Principal
Leadership Exchange Project?
Once an individual submits an application to
participate in the Principal Leadership Exchange
Project, applications will be reviewed, and if approved
(based on criteria and availability), the individual
will be matched with a school. A
debriefing session will be held the afternoon of the
program where DCPS Executive staff will be eager to hear
about the experiences of the day. The
Principal Leadership Exchange Project is a full-day
experience created for business leaders and principals
to “exchange” ideas and experiences. The pay-off is
invaluable and rewarding for everyone involved.
Following the school visit, it is
our hope that you and your colleagues will decide to
engage in enhancing academic achievement through
developing an on-going partnership with the school or
school district. If you are
interested, please engage in a conversation with the
school administrator. You and the
school leadership will work together to identify
potential areas of collaboration and develop initiatives
to help address the school needs and the needs of your
organization. The Department of Community
and Family Engagement staff members are also available
to assist.
May I
choose which school to partner with?
Yes. We will make every attempt to match you
with your requested school; however, please keep in mind
that your first choice may not be available.
Some schools may not participate due to time
conflicts or have prearranged their Principal Leadership
Exchange partner for the event day. All of our schools
have the ability to offer an extraordinary experience
and opportunity for a lasting partnership.
How do I
apply to participate in the Principal Leadership
Exchange Project?
Simply complete the
Business/Community Leader form.
