February is Florida School Volunteer Month
Did you know???
During the 2008-2009 school year, 27,598 volunteers provided 595,843 volunteer hours to Duval County Public Schools.
February 2010 has been declared Florida School Volunteer Month. During this month, school districts around the
state recognize volunteers for their outstanding support of and contributions to the education of Florida's students.
Volunteers are an important part of student success in Duval County Public Schools. More than 18,000 volunteers
support schools each year, and the number is growing. The Community and Family Engagement office works to increase the number of
volunteers in schools in order to improve student learning.
