STARS Support Team
Strategic Turnaround and Restructuring
Schools (STARS) Support Team
Four dedicated support teams
will be created at the District level to support the
Turnaround and NCLB Restructuring Schools (i.e. weekly
sight visits, monitoring, reporting creating, etc.).
For the elementary and middle schools, there will be one
support team formed for each Cluster. These teams will consist of
the following:
Elementary Schools (2
teams):
- Executive Director
for Turnaround Title I Schools
This Executive Director position
will operate as a Title I administrator in the Clusters
shifting school governance from the principals to this
position. He/she will be accountable to the Florida
Department of Education (Bureau of Student Assistance -
Title I) for ensuring that all Title I schools in
Restructuring comply with all requirements and laws;
develop and implement restructuring as defined by law;
and ensure that schools are provided with assistance and
monitoring as required by law.
The Turnaround Data Analyst
is responsible for the collection, analysis, and
interpretation of data; thereby increasing the use,
efficiency and application of data to improve
instruction for Turnaround and Restructuring schools.
They will also provide data necessary for the monthly,
quarterly and annual reports required for state and
federal compliance to the Title I Restructuring
Reporting Specialist and applicable district staff.
The Restructuring Reporting
Specialist will provide technical assistance to Title I
Restructuring schools within the Cluster by assisting
schools with the completion of required state and/or
federal monthly, quarterly and annual reports. They will
support district - level review and on-going monitoring
of school improvement plans and compliance with state
and federal statutes. They will also collect and
maintain data from the Turnaround Data Analyst for
inclusion in Schools In Need of Improvement (SINI)
(federal) and FL Differentiated Accountability Model (state) reports for Title
I schools in restructuring.
- Dedicated Academic Support Team
The dedicated Academic Support Team offers individualized concentrated academic support to
each Turnaround School. The team will consist of a Reading, Math and Science coach, and includes
the Reporting Specialist and Data Analyst.
