2012-2013 Turnaround Schools
Turnaround Designation Criteria
Schools within the Duval County Public School district that are defined as those
with the highest needs will be given the designation of "Turnaround School" based upon the following criteria:
Entry Criteria – Have
both an earned Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) school grade of “D” or below
and Differentiated Accountability (DA) status of
Priority or Focus
Priority Schools – Have
both an earned FCAT school grade of “F” in the previous school year
and DA Priority status
Focus Schools
–
Have earned FCAT school grades of “D” or lower in the last three years
Transitional Schools
– Priority and Focus schools that have earned FCAT school grades of “C” or higher at least twice in the last three (3) years, but earned grades of “D” or “F” in the past 5 years. These schools will receive additional services, resources, and support (internal and external) at reduced amounts for one year before exiting TA status
