the ese department
The public schools seek ESE teachers, therapists and other staff members of the highest possible quality. All instructional and therapy support staff must hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. In addition, our teachers and administrators are required to have special certification in their areas of instruction. Similarly, our therapists and pathologists must have current licenses in their field of practice.
To stay abreast of the latest developments in exceptional education, the ESE instructional and certificated staff must periodically complete additional college course work, in-service training programs, seminars or conferences for recertification and licensure requirements.
We also insist that ESE instructional support staff (paraprofessionals) have at least a high-school diploma plus additional training in the area of exceptional education in which they will be working.
At all times, we provide a faculty and staff sufficiently large to maintain class sizes that are most favorable for our students' needs.
