Exceptional Education & Student Services (EE/SS)

What's New

Our mission
Exceptional Education & Student Services (EE/SS) is committed to enhancing the quality of instructional services, educational opportunities and support for students with diverse needs, their families, and schools.

Welcome!
Welcome to the Duval County Public Schools EE/SS Web site, your source of information about the EE/SS offerings in Duval County. This site is filled with resources for parents and students who are making school decisions or just want to know more about the many programs throughout our county.

The EE/SS Department
The public schools seek teachers, therapists and other staff members of the highest possible quality. All instructional and therapy support staff must hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. In addition, our teachers and administrators are required to have special certification in their areas of instruction. Similarly, our therapists and pathologists must have current licenses in their field of practice.

To stay abreast of the latest developments in exceptional education, the instructional and certificated staff must periodically complete additional college course work, in-service training programs, seminars or conferences for recertification and licensure requirements.

We also insist that instructional support staff (paraprofessionals) have at least a high-school diploma plus additional training in the area of exceptional education in which they will be working.

At all times, we provide a faculty and staff sufficiently large to maintain class sizes that are most favorable for our students' needs.

If you have any questions about this site, or want more information about Duval County Public Schools Exceptional Education & Student Services, please give us a call at (904) 390-2071.
