Exceptional Education & Student Services
Low Incidence Program Standards
We are pleased to invite
teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, related services
personnel, school administrators, and service agency
representatives to join the Exceptional
Education/Student Services (EE/SS) Department as they
begin the exciting work of creating Program Standards
for students served in Physically Impaired, Autism
Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities,
Behavioral Supports, Excel Day Treatment,
Pre-Kindergarten Disabilities Varying Exceptionalities,
Deaf/Hard of Hearing, and Blind/Visually Impaired
classrooms.
The goal of developing program standards is to
identify and develop measureable levels of equity and
quality of instruction throughout the district as
evaluated by individual program rubrics. Stakeholders
will have the opportunity to work in Focus Groups, meet
at convenient locations, discuss global issues, consider
all contributions, and provide feedback regarding
Areas of Consideration. There will be follow-up
meetings to craft final program standards
recommendations for Duval County School Board review and
support. This is an exciting opportunity to
provide your input. The results of
the ese meetings will affect you, your program, your
students, your child, and your school.
This is an opportunity for you to be a part of
positive change and improvements.
