full service schools
Full Service Schools of Jacksonville is a
collaborative approach to serve the therapeutic, health
and social service needs of at-risk students and
families in Duval County. The services offered
through Full Service Schools are aimed at addressing the
therapeutic, health and social service needs of the
families in the neighborhood. Services such as
counseling, family therapy, behavior management,
substance abuse counseling, parenting classes, medical
treatment and follow-up, psychological testing,
tutoring, legal consultation, and referrals to many
outside services and agencies. All services may
not be available at each site. All services
provided through Full Service Schools are free of
charge. Services are delivered within the
neighborhood and schools to remove the barrier of
transportation.
Anyone can refer a student or family to Full
Service Schools of Jacksonville. Referrals can be
made directly by calling the site. Once the
referral has been received, an appointment with the DCSB
case manager is scheduled with the parent/caretaker and
an assessment of the family’s needs is conducted.
The case manager offers the family referrals for
appropriate services. Some services may be
internal to the program such as counseling and behavior
management. Other services may be external such as
clothing from Dignity U Wear. In all situations,
the case manager works with the family to make sure that
they are linked to the appropriate services agreed
upon in the assessment. All services are
voluntary.
