teen parents program

Duval County Public Schools offers two (2) programs for pregnant and parent students.

  1. The Young Parent(s)/Guardian Program at the Possibilities and Success Academy (PASS) at A. Philip Randolph Academies of Technology is a special program designed by the Duval County Public School System pursuant to s.1003.54, F.S., to meet the needs of students who are pregnant, students who are parenting, and the children of these students. This on-site comprehensive teenage parenting program is a voluntary educational program designed to provide inclusive educational and ancillary services in order to facilitate the parents’ ability to remain in school and work toward a standard or special high school diploma. Students that would like to participate in a full-time on-site program dedicated to pregnant students should contact the PASS Academy at (904) 924-3011 for more information.  http://www.duvalschools.org/aprtech/
  1. The Teen Parent Service Center provides services to parenting teens via case management, coordination of health and social service referrals, parenting skills, childcare assistance, career development assistance, and the coordination of community agency referrals. Career planning and academic follow-up is used as a tool for educational and life-skills development.

Teen Parent Service Center

The Teen Parent Service Center coordinates ancillary services such as, childcare, health care, social services and transportation, to ensure that teen parents remain in school, earn a high school diploma and become self sufficient. The program is available to teen parents attending Duval County Public Schools including the Academies of Technology, PACE Center for Girls, Charter Schools, Drop Back-In Sites, and other public alternative education programs.
