Duval County Public Schools provides the following benefits free to all full-time, salaried employees:
- $10,000 Group Term Basic Life Insurance
- Board paid Employee-only Select and Select Plus Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Option Medical Plans
- $250 Flex Dollars
These Flex Dollars defray the cost of voluntary benefits selections or dependent coverage.

DCPS Blue A – $500
contribution to a Medical Expense Flexible Spending
Account. This $500 contribution (employee) and
additional $300 (dependent/family unit) is designed
to satisfy the annual deductible associated with the
medical plan. DCPS Blue A Participants Includes:
Administrators, Exempt, and Employees represented by
School Maintenance Employee Association.
- DCPS Blue C - $450
contribution to a Medical Expense Flexible Spending
Account. This $450 contribution (employee) and
additional $300 (dependent/family unit) is designed
to satisfy the annual deductible associated with the
medical plan. . DCPS Blue B Participants Includes:
Employees represented by DTU (Teachers,
Paraprofessionals, UOPD), AFSME, LIUNA, and JSA
