The Duval County School Board, in accordance with federal, state and municipal regulations, prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability in access to educational programs and activities and in employment. Further, the School Board shall maintain an educational and work environment free of harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability.

Grievance procedures

Grievance procedures for students and employees are located at each school and district responsibility center. Applicants for employment should contact Human Resource Services at 1701 Prudential Drive.

An employee, student or parent who has a complaint concerning any form of discrimination related to educational, employment opportunity or environment in Duval County Public Schools may obtain counsel and assistance through the immediate supervisor, principal or school/district contact person.

Office of Equal Opportunity/Equal Access

An employee, student or parent charging discrimination based upon race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability may file a complaint through the designated school or district coordinator or directly with the Office of Equal Opportunity/Equal Access. All claims will be held in confidence. Duval County School Board employees are prohibited from retaliating against anyone who brings forth a harassment or discrimination complaint.

The Equal Opportunity/Equal Access Supervisor is the designated District Title IX Coordinator, and Equity Coordinator for the State of Florida, Department of Education.
