This law only applies to
those teaching core academic areas who are listed as the
“teacher of record”. If you are not responsible for
issuing grades to students of these core classes, you
are not subject to the NCLB requirements.
H.O.U.S.S.E Plan cannot be
used to satisfy requirements for teachers of Reading and
English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Teachers of
core academic areas in dropout prevention,
alternative education, juvenile justice and hospital
homebound must be certified in the areas in which you
are teaching by June 30, 2006 to satisfy the Highly
Qualified requirement.
