Teachers
How are silo placements
determined?
It is based on data reported to the Department of
Education in Survey 2 (October) and Survey 3 (February).
For teachers it is determined by which courses you
teach.
I am not a classroom teacher but
I provide instructional support how will my ranking be
determined?
For guidance counselors it is determined by the students
you are assigned. For media specialists it is
determined by school wide FCAT scores in Reading. For
standard coaches it is determined by school wide FCAT
scores in Reading and Math. For subject area coaches it
is determined by school wide FCAT scores in the
appropriate curricula area.
I am an ESE teacher how will I
be measured for MAP?
For ESE Itinerant teachers and inclusion teachers,
it is determined by the students you are assigned. For
Speech/Language Pathologists, it is determined by the
students you are assigned. For ESE Site Coaches, it is
determined by the students you support. For ESE
lead/load teachers, it is determined by the students you
support.
How are co-teachers or
departmentalized elementary teachers measured for MAP?
You will be measured based on the students you are
assigned. Please check with your school principal to
see which students are assigned to you.
Can I be in more than one silo?
Yes, if you teach in more than one subject area or
grade level group.
Do I have the option of not
participating in the MAP program?
No. By state law you are required to participate in
MAP and you are required to give all appropriate
examinations.
How does my evaluation affect my
eligibility for MAP?
You must have a High Performing rating in Competency
A and a satisfactory rating in Competencies B-I. If a
teacher receives a “Needs Improvement” or
“Unsatisfactory” rating then the teacher will not be
eligible for MAP.
I am ineligible for MAP because
of my evaluation do my students still have to take end
of course or MAP tests?
Yes, all students must be tested.
I am on leave during the school
year am I eligible for MAP?
If you are on unpaid leave during Survey 2 or Survey
3, you will not be eligible for MAP.
How is it determined which
student test scores impact me?
Test scores for students assigned to you in Surveys
2 and 3 will be used to determine your eligibility.
How do I participate in MAP if
my students do not take a FCAT, End of Course or MAP
test?
You will not be eligible.
I am a resource teacher will I
be eligible for MAP?
No. Resource teachers are not assigned students in
Genesis so they are not eligible for MAP.
Administrators
I am a school-based
administrator will I be eligible for MAP?
Yes, it is based on school wide true gains in Reading
and Math. |
