MAP Performance Pay Bonuses for Teachers and
School-based Administrators

This Duval County Public Schools Merit Award Plan for 2009-2010 (“Plan”), developed for submittal to the Florida Commissioner of Education pursuant to FS 1012.225, is a pay for performance system that rewards teachers and school leaders for improved student performance. The District will determine an amount equal to at least 5% of the District’s average teacher salary to be awarded to all of the top performing personnel, regardless of years of experience, according to the terms of the Plan.

Identification of outstanding personnel will be generated jointly from improved student performance ratings provided by FCAT and District data (60%) and their performance rating on the Teacher Assessment System (40%).

Continuation of the implementation of the Plan is contingent upon funding from the Florida Legislature. Implementation of any future performance pay programs will be based on requirements of Florida Statutes.
