Method of Determining Student Achievement for MAP
Part II: Teacher Performance
Appraisal and MAP
Teachers will be eligible for
the Teacher Assessment portion of the MAP Award by
earning 40 value points. A teacher will earn 40 value
points by
-
attaining a “High
Performing” rating in Competency A and
-
attaining a
“Satisfactory” rating for Competencies B through I
with no “Needs Improvement” ratings.

MAP ASSURANCES
-
There are 4 ratings
included in the Teacher Assessment System.
-
A teacher must receive a
“High Performing” rating in Competency A to be
eligible for MAP.
-
If a teacher receives
below a “Satisfactory” rating in Competencies B
through I, the teacher is not eligible for MAP.
-
If a teacher receives a
“Needs Improvement” or “Unsatisfactory” rating then
the teacher will not be eligible for MAP.
Please note:
In addition to earning the 40 points for the teacher
evaluation, teachers must be ranked in the top 25% of
their instructional assessment group in order to receive
the MAP award.
Duval County Public
Schools Methods of Determining Eligible School Based
Administrators for MAP Bonus
School based administrators
will be eligible for the MAP bonus. Administrators will
be ranked ordered within their administrative group
(elementary, middle and high school). Administrators
must meet the following student achievement criteria to
be eligible for the MAP award:

Administrators must show
true gains in their school’s reading and math scores
as defined on the Florida Department of Education
Developmental Scale. A true gain is defined as a
student improving their achievement level or showing
more than a year’s growth on the FLDOE Developmental
Scale.

Administrators must earn
an overall rating of at least a proficient on their
performance appraisal.
