I Have a Job Offer, What Do I Do Now?
Congratulations! You have been offered a
alternative education position. There are several steps
required to officially make you a part of the DCPS team.
Step 1 – Your
Assignment
Find out the details of your
alternative education assignment from your
director. Alternative education includes:
community education, extended day, SAI tutor and
AVID Tutor.
Sign all documents with the full name as it
appears on your social security card.
Your director will
submit completed set-up paperwork to the
alternative education office for review and
approval.
Upon approval the set-up
paperwork with signed check-off list will be
returned to your director.
Step 3 – New Hire
Processing Appointment
Call your schools
designated staffing assistant to schedule a
set-up appointment (see packet for contact
information).
Bring your completed and
approved set-up paperwork with you to your
appointment.
Your employment setup
paperwork must be completed and approved
prior to your appointment.
If at any time you have questions, please refer
to the contact information provided in your
paperwork packet. We are here to help you
through the hiring process.
Step 4 – At your appointment
You will turn in your completed employment
paperwork and required documents.
Bring the documents used for I-9 verification.
You will be fingerprinted. Refer to your set-up forms for
information regarding fingerprint payment, if
applicable. Effective October 1, 2008,
ALL new
employees (full-time and part-time) and re-hires
with a one day break in service must have their
fingerprints taken by the Duval County School
Board Security Office.
You are not authorized to work until your director
receives clearance from the staffing office.
