alternative certification program
qualifications
To qualify for the Duval
County Public Schools Alternative Certification Program,
an applicant must:
- Be a paid instructional
employee of the Duval County Public Schools in a
teaching assignment that does not vary from day to
day.
- Hold a temporary
teaching certificate from the Florida Department of
Education.
- Sign the ACP application
and contract as an agreement of participation.
screening
Current Duval County Public
Schools instructional employees, who are non-college of
education majors, may be screened for interest and
appropriate placement in the ACP.
timeframe
The in-service model includes fourteen Saturday sessions
over a ten month period. The portfolio takes
approximately six months to one year to complete.
