Is ACP right for you?
Qualifications
To qualify for the Duval
County Public Schools Alternative Certification Program,
an applicant must:
- Be a paid instructional
employee of the Duval County Public Schools in a
teaching assignment that does not vary from day to
day.
- Hold a temporary
teaching certificate from the Florida Department of
Education.
- Sign the ACP application
and contract as an agreement of participation.
Screening
Current Duval County Public
Schools instructional employees, who are non-college of
education majors, may be screened for interest and
appropriate placement in the ACP.
Length of the ACP
A minimum of 180 days to the
end of the participant’s temporary teaching certificate
validity period, contingent upon a second and third year
contract with the school district.
