Mission
Our mission as the Office of Recruitment and Customer
Relations is to recruit and retain the best and the
brightest teachers along with providing efficient and
quality customer service in the areas of staffing,
application processing, employment, and various
operations to our internal and external customers.
Duval County is located in Northeast Florida at the
crossroads of two interstate highways; Jacksonville is
the largest city in the contiguous United States in land
area, a major port, the insurance and financial center
of the state, site of U.S. Navy bases and the home of
the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars. As
the 19th largest school district in the nation, Duval
County serves approximately 130,000 students. It is the
second largest employer in Jacksonville with
approximately 8,000 teachers and a similar number of
support staff at 105 elementary schools, 28 middle
schools, 17 high schools, two academies of technology,
three exceptional student centers, five alternative
schools, and five charter schools. Duval County Public
Schools hires approximately 2,000 teachers every year.
