Gifted Program at Stuart

Stuart Middle School, Jefferson Davis, and Joseph Stillwell students who are identified as gifted are serviced through pullout program at Stuart Middle. This program is set up as an enrichment class much like the ones found in elementary schools in Duval County.  This is the only middle school Gifted Program in Duval County with this service model.

Gifted Students meet twice a month on a bi-weekly schedule.

A Gifted Day

9:00 am     Start program

9:30 am     Introduction and work period of morning themed                 project covering one of the four core areas. (Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science)

11:30 am     Closing of morning project
                    (presentations, discussions, etc.)

12:00 pm     Lunch

12:40 pm     Start afternoon with written journal prompt

1:00 pm     Computer guided research time

2:00 pm     Introduction and work period of afternoon project

3:30 pm     Close of gifted program and students return to regular classes
                  and schools.
