Q. What is your magnet program?
A. We are a Multiple Intelligences Magnet School. Our program recognizes that everyone is smart in different ways. Our teachers provide a variety of learning opportunities to address individual learning styles.


Q. What else does your school offer?
A. Our school offers a full resource program including physical education, media/computers, art and music. We also have a Safety Patrol for eligible fifth graders and Student Council for elected fourth and fifth grade students. EDGE is offered to students who qualify.



Q. What is EDGE?
A. EDGE is a program offered to students whose learning potential could benefit form special enrichment activities beyond their basic curriculum. The EDGE teacher works with small groups of students in the areas of creative thinking, critical and analytical thinking, and social processes (leadership, cooperation, and communication).



Q. Why should my child attend Thomas Jefferson?
A. Besides the items mentioned above, our magnet school also provides program continuity to James Weldon Johnson or Darnell Cookman Middle School, which feed into Stanton and Paxon High Schools.



Q. Is transportation provided?
A. Bus transportation is provided to students who live in zones four and five.
