Please obtain your parent password to monitor your student’s grades and progress. Oncourse

Parent Passwords can only be obtained in person in the Guidance office. Please contact Ms.

Parent Conferences

 

Parents please monitor your student’s grades/progress weekly and communicate with your

child’s teachers to ensure student success. Email is the best way to communicate with teachers

after checking their websites for information. Encourage your child to use their agenda daily.

Learning Recovery

 

Students are offered the opportunity during 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter to remediate a “D” or “F” in a

core subject area through Compass Odyssey. Applications are sent home every nine weeks with

your student. Each teacher loads the backpack of work and can be accessed at

https://odyssey.duvalschools.org. Please refer to the attachment. Please monitor this if the child

is enrolled at home or school. Contact the appropriate teacher after completion for a grade

change.

 

 

Promotional Requirements

To be promoted within middle school at the end of a given year, a student must pass a minimum number of core courses as indicated below and maintain an annual, minimum GPA of 1.5.

1. Core courses are Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

 

2. Teachers and administrators have an obligation to provide timely intervention so that students may recover courses (core or elective) during the academic year.

 

3. One core course failed and not recovered during the academic year may be recovered during DCPS Summer Education Programs (if available) or during the summer through a private or out-of-county provider to meet course requirements for promotion.
