With a generous
donation of equipment and supplies from Lowe’s and the help of Duane
Thompson and his staff, Terry Parker students are revamping the school’s
senior courtyard.
According to teacher
and beautification coordinator Dean Hanapel, the home improvement company
donated in excess of $8,000 to the project.
"What started out as
a dream has become a reality, to instill a sense of 'Pride in Parker' and
take what we have, make it better and for the students to enjoy themselves
in a positive learning environment."
In an effort to
revitalize the campus, students are using donated supplies to paint,
landscape and upgrade the outdoor grill and pond for the student body to
utilize as a place to enjoy and relax. Also, the area will be utilized as an
“outdoor classroom” for culinary operations classes and faculty functions
throughout the year.
This couldn't have
happened without the support of the community businesses that helped make
this happen. Many thanks go out to those who helped out during the times it
rained. Thanks to Lowe's,Jungle Growth, and the countless volunteers that
made this happen. Go Braves!
