Windy Hill Extended Day
The Windy Hill Extended Day Program is designed to enrich the lives
of students educationally, socially, culturally, emotionally, and
physically, while affording working parents a service at a
reasonable fee.
Snack Time
Snack will be provided daily during the afternoon
session at no additional cost to parents.
Homework Help
Homework help will be provided daily in two separate
intervals of 30 minutes. The first session will be from 3:30-4:00
and the second session will be from 5:30-6:00. We do not
guarantee that students will leave our program with all of their
homework done. It is the responsibility of your child to bring
homework to Extended Day. We cannot send children back to classrooms
to retrieve missing assignments and are not responsible for
communicating with teachers about homework assignments. While we
provide time for students to complete homework we cannot check each
child’s assignments. Please make sure you check your child’s
homework each night for completeness and accuracy. Changes to
homework times are at the discretion of the Director.
Academics and Activities

Science Lab: Science labs and experiments
will be open to all students one day a week. Science lab may include
demonstrations, outreach volunteers, and individual or group
experiments.

Computer Activities: Students will have
access to computers at least 2 days a week. They will participate in
FCAT Explorer, Success Maker, and Starfall.

Academic Enrichment and Extension
Activities: Activities may include a read aloud, literacy, math, and
crafts relating to author or genre studies. Each month students will
be immersed in two different themes and activities will be based on
those themes.

Arts and Crafts: Crafts may relate to
books, holidays or seasons, and weekly themes.
·
Recreation/ Sports and Outdoor Play:
Students will participate in sports and outdoor play at least two
times weekly. Sports and outdoor play activities will vary but may
include organized sports or students led recreation.

Fun Friday: Fridays are movie and popcorn
days!
