Rutledge H. Pearson Elementary School opened in August 2023. See transition information below.

• The rebuild will result in the consolidation of Henry F. Kite, Martin Luther King Jr., and Rutledge H. Pearson elementary schools into one large community elementary school.

• The new school is anticipated to focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) with classrooms and building structures that can adapt to the needs of the students.

• Students from Rutledge H. Pearson Elementary School will attend school on the Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School campus for the 2022-23 school year. The two schools will be operating on the same campus for one year.

• All three elementary schools (Henry F. Kite, Martin Luther King Jr., and Rutledge H. Pearson) will transition to the new campus.
