Pose different situations to your child using math for them to solve…”If 7 more people come over for dinner, how many more plates will we need?”, “This package of chicken contains 3 pork chops, how many packages would we need if we were cooking 18 pork chops?” Ask them to solve the problem a different way and explain how it is different.
