Principal

Greetings,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 academic school year at Dinsmore Elementary. " I am incredibly honored to serve as your New Principal and be a part of a school community that is known for its commitment to academic excellence, and inspiring students to embrace learning, adventure, and fun.

Born and raised in Lanesboro, Minnesota, education is career for me. With a population of 750 people, I was ready to leave my hometown and travel the world. I spent 11 years in the U.S. Navy and have visited 19 countries along the way. My stops included Australia, Norway, Scotland, and Italy. I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Mayport, Florida. Because the chance of snow is minimal in the Sunshine State, this northerner decided to continue my service to school communities in Jacksonville, Florida.

I have been a 3rd and 5th grade Math and Science Teacher, an Instructional Coach, an Assistant Principal, and now a Principal - 22 years in education all together. I am the current President for the Duval Elementary School Principal organization. I am a firm believer in service to school communities, establishing relationships, creating a legacy, and reveling in each day. My wife is an educator, both of our children attend public school, and our family dog meets me every evening at the front door.
