Greetings Hendricks Avenue Community!

I am truly excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of Hendricks Avenue Elementary School. My name is Asia O'Neal, and while this is a new chapter for me, it already feels special because of the strong sense of community, tradition, and pride that people speak about when they talk about Hendricks Avenue.

As a proud product of Duval County Public Schools, born and raised right here in Duval County, this work is deeply personal to me. Being able to serve the same community that helped shape who I am today is both an honor and a responsibility that I do not take lightly.

I have had the privilege of serving students and families in Duval County Public Schools for 17 years as a classroom teacher, Literacy Coach, and administrator. Throughout my career, one belief has remained constant: students come first, relationships matter, and schools should be places where every child and adult feels seen, valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

I am passionate about building strong partnerships with families, supporting teachers, and creating positive learning environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe that when schools and families work together, incredible things happen for children.

I am especially excited to be part of a school that embraces the Leader in Me framework and encourages students to discover their strengths, find their voice, and develop leadership skills that will serve them throughout their lives. The vision of "Soaring into Leadership" aligns closely with my own belief that every child has the potential to lead, make a positive impact, and achieve great things when given the opportunity and support to do so.

I look forward to getting to know each of you, celebrating student successes, supporting our school community, and being fully present in the life of the school. I am excited for all that lies ahead and proud to be part of the Hendricks Avenue family. Together, I look forward to helping our Eagles soar into leadership both inside and outside the classroom.
