Volunteers

The Duval County School Board recently adopted a new policy requiring that all school volunteers complete a volunteer application and undergo a basic background screening done by the District’s Community Involvement Office before performing any volunteer duties.  This policy applies to all kinds of volunteers, including classroom volunteers, field trip chaperones, event helpers and others.

Visitors

We welcome visitors at Mt. Herman!  Visitors are requested to enter the school through the main office, sign the visitor’s log and notify office staff who you plan to visit. A parent who does not have a restraining order against them has a right to access the child’s teachers and within the confines of the school’s visitor’s policy, visit the child at school.
