Greetings Mamie Agnes Jones Families!
I hope you are enjoying the weekend. As a reminder there will be no school for students tomorrow or Tuesday for teacher planning and in-service days. Teachers will be finalizing grades, and first quarter report cards will be posted and sent home on October 19th.
While this is a short week, attendance is still important! Students who are absent, tardy, or picked up early from school are missing valuable instructional time. School begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:00 PM each day. Late arrivals and early pick-ups can cause students to miss instruction in an entire subject area.
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend our Title 1 Family Math Night next Thursday, October 22nd. Entry will be through the cafeteria door at 6:00 PM. A light snack will be served during the opening presentation prior to heading out to participate in various math activities by grade level! It will be a fun night for the whole family you won’t want to miss! Kona Ice will be on site as well and all sales help to support our school.
Our Parent and Family Engagement Plan (PFEP) listing the resources and activities available for parents is available in our parent resource room. A digital copy can be emailed to you by request. We have a variety of materials and learning games available for our families. Stop by or reach out to your teacher if you are looking for additional ways to support your child’s learning at home!
We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week the week of October 26th. Dress up days include:
Monday 10/26 – Rally in Red – wear red to show your support in being drug free
Tuesday 10/27 – Nerd Day – we’re too smart to do drugs
Wednesday 10/28 – Country vs. Country Club
Thursday 10/29 – Follow Your Dreams – wear pajamas to school
Friday 10/30 – Dress up against drugs! Wear a costume (no Masks or accessories)
Flyers will be going home this week for our Patrol-sponsored Monster Mash Dance which will be taking place on Friday, October 30th. Tickets must be purchased online. The deadline for purchase is 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28th. Please be sure to include your child’s full name on the form when purchasing!
As always, we thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education and look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday morning as we continue diving deep into learning!
