AICE: Advanced International Certificate of Education

AICE

CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) is the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for 14-19 year olds.  AICE is affiliated with the University of Cambridge.  As a point of comparison, as of February 2011, there were 6,975 IB schools worldwide in 140 countries. On the other hand, there are over 9,000 schools in 161 countries that offer CIE qualifications, and this number continues to grow, especially in the United States.

One of the advantages of the AICE program here at Mandarin, however, is that it offers greater flexibility to students. Indeed, the AICE advantage is the students’ ability to take AICE classes and exams starting in grade 10, whereas IB students are only allowed to take exams during their 11th and 12th grade years, respectively.  In addition to providing opportunities to earn college credit or advanced standing at colleges and universities throughout the US, the AICE program also offers a broad curriculum that prepares students to become well-rounded and empathetic citizens within a global community. The curriculum also fulfills requirements of eligibility for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship.

NEW* for 2020: School Choice will be accepting the applications for consideration into all accelerated programs, including AICE on the PARENT FOCUS Account linked to the student, beginning on Dec 2nd, 2019.  Students who wish to be considered for Mandarin High School's AICE Program must apply with School Choice and indicate AICE & Mandarin High School as your #1 Choice.  Please see link below for more information about the application process: High School Acceleration Application Information
