Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st of the year for which you are enrolling.

The school day for kindergarten is not a modified day.

Students must be enrolled with DCPS, prior to registering for school.

• Reach out to our office to complete the registration process.

• If you are not zoned for Merrill Road Elementary School, you may apply for a special assignment.

  • For 2026 - 2027 school year complete the Controlled Open Enrollment application in your FOCUS account

  • For the 2027 - 2028 school year complete the application in your FOCUS account (December 2026 - January 2027)
